Sabr
“And be patient, for your patience is by Allah. Do not grieve over them, and do not be distressed by what they plot.”
— Surah An-Nahl 16:127.
Sabr is the ability to remain patient, calm, and steadfast in the face of difficulties, challenges, or delays, while trusting Allah’s plan. It is more than just waiting — it is controlling anger, resisting wrongdoing, and persevering through trials with faith. Practicing Sabr strengthens the heart, brings peace during hardships, and helps a person make wise and righteous decisions. In Islam, patience is highly valued because it allows us to endure life’s tests, stay close to Allah, and receive His rewards. Sabr allows us to face trials with hope instead of despair, strengthens our character, and brings Allah’s blessings and rewards in this life and the next.
